Summer Camp 2019
Come join us for a summer of making and creating. Each camp day runs from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm with extended day available until 5:30 pm. Each week has its own unique theme with activities built around the theme. Activities are planned around student interests with time built in for outdoor play (weather permitting). Most weeks also include a field trip to a theme related venue.
Dates: 7/29 – 8/2/2019
During this week, campers will learn all about what makes a computer while building one of their own using a Raspberry Pi. Raspberry Pi’s are mini-computers that can support a large range of operating systems. This week, campers will use the Kano OS to learn about input/ output and how to create with code. Campers also have the option to take home the computers they built.
Dates: 8/5 – 8/9/2019
During this week, campers will explore the word of code and physical computing using and building with Microbits. Microbits are small processing boards jam-packed with sensors and an LED grid supported by a user-friendly visual coding platform. Projects created are camper interest-driven and will incorporate cardboard and material construction along with digital making.
Dates: 8/12 – 8/16/2019
During this week, campers will explore the question of how technology can be harnessed to solve a need in the community. Our theme this year will investigate how a person who is non- verbal or foreign language speaking communicate their needs in various public spaces.

Get your scissors and sewing needles ready for some fashion fancy.
